Sometimes it's best to just watch something do its thing.
This video shows that the Steady Clip:
- is very quick and easy to use once installed (the warp is quickly snapped into it)
- remains engaged when setting (even at relatively high vessel speed)
- rights a trap into the proper orientation on the way down
- disengages during hauling so that the trap can be hauled properly (with the tension at the bridled end of the trap)
Every design element of the Steady Clip serves a purpose: from the material used, to the shape of the hammer, to the particular tension of the bungee cord. Each component was specifically engineered to allow for each of the above key goals to be achieved consistently.
